Laura Harriman, a Certified Pilates Teacher, has 10 years of classical pilates experience. Her study and love of Pilates began in 1998 in Sarasota, Florida where their teachers will called whis method, Contrology. As a former gymnast and avid runner, Laura found pilates a "workout" that challenged her body differently. By learning the control and balance of Pilates, Laura became stronger, straighter and healthier than ever before. For the nest 8 years, Laura went on to study and be certified with Pilates Master Teacher, Jennifer Kries. Laura has continued her pilates education with specialty training in Plicates for Scoliosis, Pliates for Rehabilitation and Pliates for Pregnancy. In addition, Laura has also studied the Fletcher work at the Pilates Studio of Cincinnati where she completed many bodywork and performance workshos. Laura became a Certified Pre-Natal Pilates Teacher at the Pilates Studio of Miami in 2003.
In 2000, Laura opened the first Classical Pilates studio in Mid-Michigan, The Body Studio, where she began teaching clients privately and then went on training several other teachers her love of pilates. She has since becpme the mother of two little boys and now teaches at Studio Core.
Laura eaned her B.F.A and B.S. degree from Central Michigan University, majoring in Commercial Management and Biology and MBA degree from the University of South Florida.
Laura is currently working on a certification in The Raindrop Technique, a hands-on, healing art using therapeutic essential oils and has plans of working slowly toward a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
